SNAGGED: FLORA KUNG
I spend Paypal money as soon as it hits my account. Not good for the whole "clean out your closet for some extra cash for your big trip" deal. What is it with me and vintage lately? I love vintage shopping, but I've never done so much of it online. I really hope this fits. It's so gorgeous. If it isn't my style, I'll rearrange everything else!

IN FOR QUESTIONING
What is your current obsession? Trolling eBay for vintage, sushi.
What is your weirdest obsession? Straying from recipes as much as I can.
What are you wearing today? Black DKNY tunic that was somehow well over a hundred dollars that I got for $7, khaki cotton blazer, dark denims, vintage Pony laceups, and my "new" estate marcasite amethyst necklace.
Why is today special? We are going golfing during work! I will be working on my drive and nursing beers this lovely afternoon.
What would you like to learn to do? Sew, fish, play various instruments.
What’s for dinner today? Going out with friends to an Italian restaurant.
What’s the last thing you bought? A boucle jacket.
What are you listening to right now? Otis Redding.
What is your favorite weather? Cool just after a prolonged rain.
What is your most challenging goal right now? Figuring out what to do with the rest of my life.
If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be? New York City, to rent out.
Favorite vacation spot? Outer Banks.
What would you like to have in your hands right now? A million dollars.
What would you like to get rid of? My firmly entrenched laziness.
If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? A ride in a hot air balloon over something interesting, like the Grand Canyon.
Which language do you want to learn? German.
What did you dream of last night? Going to a play with a coworker.
Who do you want to meet in person? Certain dead people, favorite authors and such.
One thing that you would snitch out of someone’s closet, with no regrets? Crazy expensive shoes.
What’s the favorite piece of clothing in your own closet? I hate cold weather, but a beautifully cut coat can elevate anything. I have a vintage dark green coat made in West Germany that I absolutely love. For summer, I would pick any of my skirts or dresses.
What is your dream job? Novelist, travel writer, syndicated columnist, successful entrepreneur...
If you had $1000 now what would you spend it on? Boringly? Refinancing. For fun? Road trip!
Favorite style steal tv/movie right now: La Notte
Do you admire anyone's style? Rachel Bilson, Gwyneth Paltrow, a couple of style bloggers especially Jane of Sea of Shoes.
What is your weirdest obsession? Straying from recipes as much as I can.

SNAGGED: ESTATE AMETHYST MARCASITE NECKLACE
Just won this beauty a few minutes ago. I have no idea what is wrong with me...I've never had so many items on my "watch" list in my life. It's all mainly vintage, too. Maybe it's because BF hates going shopping, and I hate dragging him along (I can't drive his stick shift so I can't go alone). Maybe it's because I'm procrastinating studying for this stupid entrance test, which I'm probably going to have to push back until after my overseas trip next month. But really, I love this necklace. I can see myself wearing it with crisp blouses and trousers/jeans, or a sun dress... Maybe I just have spring fever!!

IF YOU REMEMBER THIS YOU GREW UP IN THE 90s
You're a 90's kid if:
You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"
You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"
You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
You remember reading "Goosebumps"
You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off"
You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.
You danced to "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls
HELLO....HOT WHEELS!!!!!
You remember the craze, then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.
You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...
Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.
You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green Ranger were meant to be together.
You remember when super nintendos became popular.
You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , and 3........and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"
"I've fallen and I can't get up"
You remember boom boxes vs. cd players
You remember New Kids on The Block when they were cool
You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"
You played and/or collected "Pogs"
You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere
You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles
NANCY DREW AND THE HARDY BOYS WERE THE BEST MYSTERY BOOKS
Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!
All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.(pencils.notebooks.b inders.etc.)
You made paper scrunchies to see who you'd end up marrying
You remember when the new Beanie Babies were always sold out.
You used to wear those stick on earrings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.
You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"
You know the Macarena by heart.
"Talk to the hand" ... enough said
You thought Brain would finally take over the world
You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"
You remember when everyone went slinky crazy.
You remember when razor scooters were cool.
When we were younger:
Before the MySpace frenzy...
Before the Internet & text messaging...
Before Sidekicks & iPods...
Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX...
...Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.
When light up sneakers were cool.
When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.
When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.
When we recorded stuff on VCRs & paid $3.50 for a movie.
When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.
When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.
Tag.
Get Over Here!!!! means something to you.
Hide-n-Go Seek at dusk.
Red Light, Green Light.
Heads Up 7 Up.
Playing Kickball & Dodgeball until your porch light came on.
Hopscotch.
Tree Houses.
Hula Hoops.
Captain Planet.
Running through the sprinklers.
That "Little Mermaid"
Crying when Mufasa died in the Lion King.
Happy Meals where you chose a Barbie or a Hot Wheels car.
Getting the privilege to sit in the front seat of the car.
Drinking Squeeze It "Squeeze The Fun Out Of It"
Or what about:
Hey Arnold.
Rugrats.
The Secret World of Alex Mac.
Rocco's Modern Life.
Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Doug.
Magic School Bus.
Aladdin.
Pinky and the Brain
Sailor Moon.
Blossom.
Beavis & Butt-Head
Wishbone.
Bill Nye the Science Guy
MR ROGERS!!!!
Where everyone wanted to be in love after watching The Wonder Years.
Under the Umbrella Tree
PEE-WEE!!!
The Big Comfy Couch
Kool-Aid was the drink of choice.
Class field trips.
When Christmas was the most exciting time of year.
When $5 seemed like a million, & another dollar a miracle.
When you begged to go to McDonalds for dinner everyday.
When Toys R Us overruled the mall.
Go back to the time when:
Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'.
Money issues were handled by whoever was banker in 'Monopoly.'
Being old referred to anyone over 20.
A chance to skate as a couple at the local roller rink was like winning the lottery.
When Ninja Turtles ruled the world.
When Aladdin was new, before the trilogy was complete.
Before we realized all this would eventually disappear
Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!

SNAGGED: STERLING RHINESTONE NECKLACE BY PHYLLIS
Vintage Signed Phyllis Sterling Rhinestone Necklace
I stayed up to bid on this last night. I was inspired by MK and her rock n roll T shirts and tangled rhinestone necklaces. I don't think I will go the rock n roll T route, but I will throw this on with more casual fare. Can't wait for it to come in the post!

LUCY'S CLOSET STAPLES
dark rinse trouser cut jeans
casual pair jeans
white straight leg jeans or capris
crisp white blouse, preferably non iron
black pencil skirt
black sheath dress
black tights
black pantsuit
blazer to dress up or down
heather grey shirt to tuck into jeans, a skirt...
statement necklace
diamond stud earrings
wristwatch
pashmina or everyday scarf light enough for summer
black high heels
nude high heels
wool winter coat
the classic trenchcoat
everyday flats or driving mocs
evening heels -- eyecatching but comfortable
Past the above, it's good to start introducing splashes of color to your wardrobe. Think silk summer blouses you can wear under cashmere cardigans in the winters in purples and greens. Or a bright leather statement belt that somehow goes with everything. Pink shoes.
Of course, my own closet looks nothing like this. I have three or four of things I don't even wear. The bolded selections are what I need but don't have in my closet.

SHOULD I KEEP?
By far the most expensive article of clothing I have ever purchased, even on sale. The shop doesn't accept returns, which means I can either throw myself at their feet begging for mercy and my money back, or hoist onto eBay where all dreams die.
But isn't this the most beautiful dress ever? It's so bright. It makes me so happy. It looks awful on the hanger, but I tried it on anyway and I loved the puffy sleeves. I tried on every belt I had but this worked best. Who knew a vintage Banana Republic belt would save the day.
Well, anyway. I'm torn.

STALKING: VINTAGE TURQUOISE AND SILVER NECKLACE
Just lost a tiny last minute bidding war on this beauty. I've been haunting eBay and etsy lately for vintage jewelry. It seriously sucks up hours of my workday. I think it's because I want to buy something really badly, specifically a DVN dress I saw last week. I'm just going to drop the $300 and buy it tomorrow. I've been working overtime anyway - need to enjoy some of the rewards I reap, right?
